This painting presents a vibrant and textured depiction of a field of poppies against a backdrop of a clear blue sky. The texture of the canvas is visible, adding a tactile quality to the sky's surface. Below, the field of poppies bursts with color and energy. The predominant color is a rich, warm red, transitioning to shades of pink and orange in some of the blossoms, suggesting the play of light and shadow. A few yellow accents are interspersed among the red, providing a striking contrast and adding visual interest. The green stems and leaves, painted with looser, more gestural strokes, create a sense of movement and spontaneity.
